Her and her husband, Stephen J. Rhoads, had 6 children.
Obituary
From the Auburn Citizen-Advertiser, Tuesday, February 2, 1937:
Mrs. Vesta E. Rhoads, 91, mother of Supervisor William Rhoads of Sumerhill, died shortly after 12 o'clock Monday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Harry Clapp, in Groton. Mrs. Rhoads, who was the widow of Stephen J. Rhoads, was a resident of the Town of Sempronius and passed nearly all her life there. She was born in the Town of Summerhill. She had been in poor health for a long time and had been 16 months at her daughter's home.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Clapp and Mrs. Howard Lacy of Sempronius, three sons, Supervisor Rhoads, Herbert E. Rhoads of Mecklenburg and Clinton Rhoads of Sempronius, and two grandsons, Kermit and Stuart Rhoads of Summerhill.
Funeral services at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon will be in Dresserville church. Rev. R.J. Blocker will officiate. Burial will be in Sand Hill Cemetery at Dresserville.
