James Duncan, son of David Duncan (bef.1757-aft.1800) and Barbara (Marshall) Duncan (1759-bef.1847), was born on 19 November 1799 in Pickletillem, Leuchars, Fife, Scotland and was baptised on 24 November 1799 in Leuchars, Fife, Scotland.^[1][2]

Research Notes

This is unlikely to be the James Duncan that married Agnes Thompson Ross on 10 February 1817 at Kirkcaldy, Fifeshire, Scotland, immigrated to Australia and was buried on 27 May 1855 at Hinton, New South Wales, Australia. That James was born in Angus (Forfarshire) in about 1801-1803.
