Biography

Martha Dolan, daughter of John Dolan and Martha Canning, married Allan Wright. ^[1]Confirmed^[2]

Martha Dolan was married when the rest of her family went to America following her mother's death. Martha married Allan Wright. Their family was: Martha, Allan, Cathy, James, Nancy, Mary, Veronica and Tommy. Of their children: Martha never married and Alan married a woman named Cissy. It is believed that they had three children. Cathy was married, had one daughter and her husband was killed during WW II. She met her next husband, Bernard Lavery, a GI who came to visit James and his family in Scotland. 'His mother was my Aunt Anne's best friend'. Cathy went to Ohio as a war bride and had 8 more children, 4 boys and then 4 girls.^[3]

Nancy (Agnes) Wright married William Kinlan and had one daughter, then moved to America and had a son David. Mary Wrignt married Jimmy McCann and had one son, Jimmy. Veronica Wright married Michael Graham from Tredegar, Wales and had three children in America: Christine Graham married a Wilson; Veronica Graham married a Semler; and Magnus Graham. Tommy Wright married Margaret and had at least three children. Daniel Wright married Sarah and they had five children: Catherine, Allen, Hugh, Marlene and Helen. James Wright married Marge and had at least one child (Marjorie). Cathy Wright married 1) Peter Finigan and had one daughter: Ann Donahue nee Finigan; Peter Finigan was killed during WW II and Cathy married 2) Bernard Lavery (see note above in James Dolan notes re Bernard Lavery). Cathy Wright Lavery went to Ohio as a war bride and she and her husband Bernard had eight children - four boys: Lawrence, Allen, Paul, Brian; and four girls: Veronica Oravec nee Lavery, Mary, Elizabeth Klein nee Lavery, and Loretta. The four Wright sisters: Catherine, Nancy, Martha and Veronica, all lived in the Akron, Ohio area with their families.^[4]

Also living in the household: Peter Dolan (brother to John) 28 years of age, b c1863, Baillieston, Lanarkshire, coal miner.^[11]

1907, July: at the time of her brother Patrick's landing in New York city, Martha (Dolan) Wright's address was given as Coursington Road, Motherwell, Scotland. ^[12]
