Marie Blanche Després was born on 20 Feb 1838 and baptized on 24 Jun 1838 in Cocagne, New Brunswick, the daughter of Honoré Despres and Marie Goguen.^[1][2]

Marie Blanche married Thadée Melanson, son of Romain Melanson and Marie Pellerin, on 10 Jan 1859 in Cocagne.^{[3] [4]}

She died on 9 Sep 1883 and was buried two days later in Cocagne.^[5] Her age noted in the parish register was 45 years, the wife of Thadé Melanson.
