Ella A Davis was born on 22 October 1858 in New York, United States, daughter of Elisha Jackson Davis (1815–1877) and Fannie Shannon (1821–1899).[1] She was one of at least seven children born to them.

Ella lived in Little Valley, Cattaraugus, New York until sometime between 1866 and 1869. She was recorded as living in Little Sioux, Harrison, Iowa, with her family on the 1870 census[2] and on the 1880 census.[3]

She married William B. Spencer (age 32) on 30 January 1881 in River Sioux, Harrison, Iowa, United States.[4] There are no known children from this marriage, nor is it known what happened to William, but it is assumed that he died.

Ella (widow, 29) married John William Huff (30) (born on 14 October 1857 in Little Sioux Township, Harrison, Iowa, United States; son of Hiram Metcalf Huff and Lucinda (McGahan) Huff) on 17 June 1888 in River Sioux, Harrison, Iowa. John and Ella did not have children. According to US and Iowa state census records, they lived in Monona County, Iowa, in 1895 and 1900, where John had a medical practice.[5][6]

In August 1905, Ella and John moved to Baker City, Baker, Oregon, where John purchased the medical practice of a retiring physician.[7] Baker City was their last residence.[8][9]

Ella died on 18 October 1922 in Baker City, Baker, Oregon, at the age of 63. She was buried in Mount Hope Cemetery, Baker City, Baker County, Oregon.[1]
