Born to Benjamin Cutbirth Jr (1785-1819) and Sarah McCann, Daniel was the husband of Narcissa [Narcissus] Odle (married Nov 1, 1846), and gave her five children:
• Margaret [Margret] W Cutbirth Cutbirth
• John Cutbirth (1849-1860; died from scarlet fever)
• Mary Ann Cutbirth Poston
• Sarah Jane "Sallie" Cutbirth Cutbirth
• Elijah Cutbirth (1857-1860; died from scarlet fever)
Dan died in an ox-cart accident between 1858-1860, leaving his widow to drive herself and their surviving three daughters to Texas:
"Daniel was unhitching the oxen from the wagon when the smell of fresh water caused the team to bolt and they ran over and killed him. The exact year this happened is not recorded; however, it was between the years 1858 and 1860. Shortly after Daniel was killed, Narcissus drove an ox wagon and brought her three daughters to Bosque County, Texas," per his great, great-granddaughter, Mosette Johnson Kilpatrick.[1]
