Biography

Abigail Child was born on June 16, 1672 in Barnstable, Barnstable, Massachusetts Bay, daughter of Richard Child (1631–1694) and Mehitable Dimmock (<1642–1676).

In 1748, her husband bequeathed the enslavement of his enslaved people, Amos, Sarah, and Bulah to her, and she was to have the use of his enslaved black man, Jack, then Jack was to be set free after her death.[1]
