Ephraim was a whaler and came to Carteret, NC with Samuel Chadwick and one other to start the whaling industry in North Carolina in or around 1726. Samuel Chadwick received a license from the King of England to hunt whales. This is written in "Grandpa's a Whaler, by Amy Muse" in the 1960's. Ephraim was "lost at sea" in 1762.

Chadwick-2806 and Chadwick-471 appear to represent the same person because: There are a lot of differences between the dates, but both profiles are for men lost at sea in North Carolina who were born in Massachusetts. This is too unusual to be a coincidence.
