Peter Byrne was born in Shankill, County Dublin, Ireland in 1859. His Roman Catholic baptism appears on 29th August 1859, in Kingstown parish, County Dublin. Catholic baptisms in Ireland were rarely more than two or three days after birth, giving a likely birth date of August 1859. He was the sixth of seven children born to Matthew Byrne and Bridget (Kearney) Byrne. He was a Farmer and Ploughman.
Peter Byrne was age 20 when he married Anne Keddy in St.Peter's, Little Bray, County Wicklow, Ireland in April 1880. She was age 23. The 1911 Ireland Census states ten children were born. Nine have been found. Seven survived to adulthood.
Unknown child, birth unknown, nothing further found.
No date of death appears for his mother Bridget (Kearney) Byrne. His father Matthew Byrne passed away a widower, age 65, in Shankill, County Dublin, Ireland in 1893, when Peter was age 34.
He took on the land and effects of his uncle Peter Kearney in Shankill, County Dublin, Ireland, upon the latter's death in 1899.
He appears in the 1901 Ireland Census, age 41, living with his wife, and five children still at home, in Shankill, County Dublin, Ireland. He appears again in the 1911 Ireland Census, age 51, living with his wife, and three children still at home.
He passed away aged 67 in Shankill, County Dublin, Ireland in 1927. His wife Anne (Keddy) Byrne passed away 11 years later age 82 in 1938. He had 9 children and 28 grandchildren.
