Biography

Massalva[1] was born around 1728 in Hanover, Lunenburg County, Virginia Colony. She is the daughter of Richard Brooks (1675–1734) and Mary Gibson (1683–1735).[2]

In July 1734, at Hanover, Lunenburg County, Virginia Colony, she inherited an equal division of her father Richard's estate along with her mother Mary, brothers Robert and Richard, and sister Sarah.[3]

She married Obediah Hooper Sr (1720–1803) in 1741 in Hanover County, Virginia Colony.[4]

Massilva and Obediah had 11 Children:

  1. Mary Marvula Hooper White (1744–1843)
  2. James Hooper (1746–1836)
  3. Thomas Hooper (1747–1826)
  4. William Hooper Sr (1749–1815)
  5. Obediah Hooper Jr (1755–1839)
  6. Richard Brooks Hooper (1756–1846)
  7. John Hooper (1760–1818)
  8. Amelia Hurt Hooper Monroe (1761–1830)
  9. Nancy Ann Hooper Goodlett (1762–1843)
  10. Susannah Hooper Perry (1766–1804)
  11. Matthew Brooks Hooper Sr (1768–1846)

She died at age 77 on 16 July 1800 in Franklin County, Georgia, USA, and was most likely buried there on the family farm, now in Banks County.[5]

Obediah Hooper only had one wife -- not 3 as on Hooper-122. Brooks-9520 , Brooks-12978 and Brooks-11676 are all the same person, clearly duplicates! Please merge properly!
