Biography

Massalva^[1] was born around 1728 in Hanover, Lunenburg County, Virginia Colony. She is the daughter of Richard Brooks (1675–1734) and Mary Gibson (1683–1735).^[2]

In July 1734, at Hanover, Lunenburg County, Virginia Colony, she inherited an equal division of her father Richard's estate along with her mother Mary, brothers Robert and Richard, and sister Sarah.^[3]

She married Obediah Hooper Sr (1720–1803) in 1741 in Hanover County, Virginia Colony.^[4]

Massilva and Obediah had 11 Children:

She died at age 77 on 16 July 1800 in Franklin County, Georgia, USA, and was most likely buried there on the family farm, now in Banks County.^[5]
