Biography

Thomas Brewington is a part of US Black heritage.

Thomas was born in 1881 to Thomas Brewington and Katherine Thompson. ^[1] He was a farmer in Pender County, North Carolina. He married Minnie Newton in 1911, and they had ten children. His daughter, Cocheyse, married John Henry Chavis, who was a tuskegee airman. Thomas passed away in 1959. He was buried in McMillan Cemetery in Burgaw, Pender County, North Carolina.^[2]

His son-in-law, John Henry Chavis, Jr was a Tuskegee airman who continues to be listed as Missing in Action in Italy.
