Biography

Thomas Leo Bray was born 14 February 1893 in Lexington, Missouri to John Bray (1856-1931) and Bridget Hildegrade Stewart (1864-1943). [1]

1900 census: Thomas, son, wh, m, Birthday Feb. 1893, 7, single, MO[3]

Confirmation: 30 June 1908, Rt. Rev. Lillis, Bishop of Kansas City, MO, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Lexington, MO[4]

1910 Soundex, Lexington, Lafayette, MO, Thomas, son, 17, [lived with his parents]

Married 15 April 1914 to Jennie Berglund, a non-catholic, George B. Curry, Pastor, witnesses at wedding: M. McDonald and Francine Narty [5]

US World War I Draft Registration Cards, 1917-1918: Tom Leo Bray, born 14 February 1893, Missouri, Married: with wife and one child. Occupation: Switchman, had brown eyes and dark hair, medium build.[6][7]

Tom in 1920 was not on the Missouri census, but was on the Shawnee, Wyandotte, Kansas census: Thomas, age 27, Wyandotte, Shawnee Twp, RR Switchman, Jennie 27, Missouri, parents Swedish, Thomas 5, James

1922, Polk Directory: Thos L. painter, lived at parents address[8]

Tom wasn't very faithful to his wife Jennie, his twin daughters with Jennie were born 2 July 1929 in Missouri, yet in 3 April 1930 Tom was in Colorado, and on that census said he was married to Darlene M. Unknown, they were boarding in the household of William H. Madden. On the 1930 Census that Jennie filled out in Kansas City, Missouri she has that she is married, not divorced. There's a good chance that Tom and Jennie weren't divorced, and he was just living with another woman.[9]

3 April 1930, lived in Colorado, worked for railroad, is a boarder, wife: Darlene M. age 19, age 19 when she married, Tom's age 35, age 34 when he married[10][11]

Thomas Leo Bray died 6 August 1936, in Jefferson County, Colorado, cemetery: Calvary Cemetery, Kansas City, Missouri.[12]

Note: Cemetery stone has 1936: Tom was killed by his last wife which might have been Darlene, or another one after her, for he was known as a womanizer, his last wife perhaps 'Darlene' shot him for being with another woman, he was shot with his own gun.
