DEATH OF Mrs. COUSINS.
The late Mrs. Cousins, of ' Heytesbury Park,' Boomey, whose death took place on Sunday last at her residence, was a very long time identified with the district where she passed nearly all of her peaceful and respected life. Just verging on 70 years, but up to within a few weeks of her decease, enjoying robust health, Mrs. Cousins had thus attained that period which is defined as the term of human sojourn on earth.
All that knew or came into contact with Mrs. Cousins were impressed with a sense of her gentleness and kindly manner, and her diligent domestic habits and friendly disposition. Her residence in the locality of Beri and Boomey have reached well on to 70 years, as she came to Beri from Bathurst when only three weeks old and resided there ever since. Yet during that long and unbroken period she never had any word but kindly for her neighbours or friends. She leaves her respected husband, Mr. W. H. Cousins, J.P., and five sons and five daughters, with the deepest evidence of affection and esteem for her memory. During her recent short illness Mrs. Cousins was treated by Dr. Veech, attentively nursed by her relatives and kind friends and neighbours, and visited and ministered to by her clergyman (Canon Alldis) and his assistant.
On Monday last the remains of the deceased lady were laid to rest in the peaceful little cemetery at Boomey, the funeral — which was about a quarter of a mile long— being attended by a representative number of all sections of the community. The Rector read the burial service and gave a consolatory address at the grave.
A memorial service will be conducted at the church, Beri, on Sunday, 29th Dec, at 3 p.m.
