William Blois was born in England.

William Blois was born to William Blois and Alice Nottingham in 1562. He was baptised November 15, 1562 at St Nicholas, Ipswich, Suffolk, England.

He has a sister Alice and a brother Robert.

William married Frances Tye (daughter of John Tye and Elizabeth Padley) 1591 in Ipswich.

They had 3 sons and 5 daughters, who are: Dorcas (2/3 Sep 1592), Alice (6 Mar 1596), William (15 Jul 1600), Francis (13 Sep 1604), Abigail (18 Feb 1605), Mary (2 Jul 1610), Edmund and John.

William died in 1621 and was succeeded by his son William.

Research Notes

The Blois family were wealthy landowners in Suffolk who had made their money in trade in the 16th and 17th centuries. The family seat was at Grundisburgh Hall a few miles northeast of Ipswich, which an ancestor, Sir William Blois, had inherited from the Brooke family by marriage (his first wife was a Brooke, and his second was the widow and heiress of his brother-in-law).

William Blois, of Grundisburgh, son of William, married Frances, daughter of John Tye, of Ipswich, by who he had 3 sons and 5 daughter: John and Ann, who died young, Mary, buried at Grundisburgh 1631, Francis, who was of Grays Inn, buried at Grundisburgh, 1623, Dorcas, the wife of George Downing, of Sandcroff, William who succeeded his father, Alice, wife of John Acton, of Bramford, Esq and Abigail, of John Hodges, if Ipswich, Esq. He died 1621 and was succeeded by his son.

Bloise-6 and Blois-166 appear to represent the same person because: There are many spellings for Blois/Bloise. At this point the name used is Blois. This is the same person on both forms and I would appreciate a merge being completed.
