Biography

Martha Eliza Blake, daughter of Samuel Blake (abt.1879-) and Eliza was born at Millinton, Cheshire, England. Her birth was registered in the Bucklow district in the March quarter of 1911 ^[1].

In 1911 Martha was living at Millington, Cheshire with her parents Samuel (born Acton Bridge, a Waggoner on a farm, aged 32), and her mother, Eliza (31, born Whitley), and her siblings Gertrude (aged 9 norn Little Leigh), Percy (7, also born Little Leigh), Leslie (4, born Barnton, Cheshire), Margaret Noreen, (2, born Millington, Cheshire). Also in the household was her father's nephew James Blake (1889-1960) ^[2].

Martha married Percy Beckley in the Bucklow Registration District , in the December quarter of 1933 ^[3].

Their son, William, was registered in the Bucklow Registration District in the December quarter of 1935 ^[4].

In 1939 Martha (born 21 December 1909 - incorrect? different Martha?) and Percy (an agricultural horseman) were living with two entries redacted, presumably their children, at Malt Kiln Cottage, Bucklow. Martha's uncle Noah lived next door, and Joseph Blake (born 7 Sept 1916) and Harry Blake (born 1920) lived five houses away - next door to them lived Samuel (born 8 March 1877) and Eliza Blake and a child. Against Martha's name is a note that she remarried on 25th August 1959, to a Mr Cadman.

Martha and Percy's daughter Janet was registered in the Bucklow district in the March quarter of 1949^[5]

Percy died aged 39, and his death was registered in the Bucklow district in the September quarter of 1950 ^[6].

Their son Percy was registered in the Bucklow district in the March quarter of 1951 ^[7].

Martha married Harry Cadman in the June quarter of 1959 in the Bucklow district ^[8]

Martha died on the 18th January 2011, her postcode at the time was WA14 2, which covers Altrincham, Bowdon, Broadheath, Dunham Town, Timperley, Dunham Massey, Little Bollington, and Trafford ^[9]

Research notes

A daughter Jean may have been registered in the Wirral in 1939.

No children of her second marriage (either previous name) found on FreeBMD 5/11/2020.
