Michael Bindl was born at Treffelstein, Kreis Cham, Bavaria, Germany, and immigrated with seven others on June 8, 1863, to the Port of New York, New York. He located in Big Hollow in Sauk County, Wisconsin, on the farm later owned by his son, Rupert. He married Emilia Josefa Weishan on February 26, 1867. They had 11 children. Michael Bindl's death was due to Bright's disease, from which he has been a sufferer for the last six months. At the time of his death, he was a resident of Spring Green, Wisconsin, for 54 years. He died at his home in that village on Tuesday morning. Funeral services were held in St. John's church and interment was made in St. Luke's cemetery at Plain.
