The "Weekly Home News" (Spring Green, Wisconsin) issue of June 27, 1895 (page 2 col. 4), reported on the death of Emilia Weishan Bindl who was killed when lightning struck their new home, fatally injring Mrs. Bindl; knocking out their oldest son, Michael, who was out in the barn and found unconscious. Mr. and Mrs. Bindl were painting an upstairs bedroom when lightning struck Mrs. Bindl. She was about 48 years of age, the mother of 11 children.
