Biography

William was born in 1836. He was the son of Aaron Bartholomew and Ann Briggs. He passed away in 1889.

From Ontario County Journal, Canandaigua, Ontario County, New York. September 13, 1889

Naples, N. Y. - The death of Wm. Bartholomew was sad and excited much sympathy. He was thrown from his wagon two months ago in a runaway and his leg was injured. He suffered a great deal with it, but did not realize its condition until a week ago. Dr. Parker was called in and found the leg rotten. It had evidently been neglected. Dr. Beahan, of Canandaigua, was consulted and amputation was decided upon. On Thursday the operation was performed, but it was too late, and the poor man died Friday morning. The deceased was highly esteemed; was a hard working, honest man; had a large family; was elected town collector last spring. By arduous army service his constitution had been weakened. An immense number of friends attended his funeral at his home in Garlinghouse on Sunday.S --- Co. G. 148th Regiment, New York Infantry.

Bartholomew-10 and Bartholomew-7 appear to represent the same person because: Because they share the same data
Bartholomew-1325 and Bartholomew-7 do not represent the same person because: Family members and locations are different
Bartholomew-449 and Bartholomew-7 appear to represent the same person because: Bartholomew-449 has no visible personal data. I would like to compare them
Bartholomew-449 and Bartholomew-7 do not represent the same person because: I don't know why this William Bartholomew was imported into WikiTree from my Gedcom file without any information, but this William Bartholomew was the son of William Bartholomew who was born before February 1567 in Warboroughshire, Oxfordshire, England. William Sr. was the husband of Friswide Metcalfe. One of his sons, Henry, the brother of this William was an early settler in Salem, MA, arriving November 7,1635.

Hello,

This profile was merged and has two biographies, two sources, and lots of duplicated information. Would you be willing to clean it up? It also has a few other suggestions. I would repectfully fix this profile if you want. Just let me know.
