Asenath B. (Atkins) Wing died on 26 Jan 1838.[3] She is buried at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Livermore Falls. Maine, where her gravestone gives her age at her death as 33.[4] See the Research Note below.
Research Note
The Mason genealogy gives her name as Asenath Adkins, says that she was born in Maine on 2 Jan 1805, and gives her place of death on 26 Jan 1838 as Turner, Maine.[3] The birth date conflicts with the entry in the vital records of Mercer, Maine, which gives her birth date as 29 Feb 1804.[1] It is possible that an Asenath born in February 1804 died soon after birth and was followed by another daughter of the same name 11 months later, or the January 1805 date may be a baptismal date. No evidence has been found that the Obed Wing family ever lived at Turner, and she is buried at Livermore Falls (which was part of Livermore until 1843, when it was set off as East Livermore), so it is likely that she died at Livermore.
