Biography

Birth

Obed Wing was born on 8 Aug 1785, the son of Tabitha Wing.^[1] His father is unknown.

Marriages

1. On 19 Dec 1807, Obed Wing of Livermore, Maine, and Florentine Glidden of Chesterville, Maine, (both towns were then in Massachusetts) published at Livermore their intention to marry.^[2] Their first child was born at Livermore on 15 Nov 1808.^[3]
2. Obed Wing married Asenath Atkins. Their first known child was born on 20 Dec 1826.^[1][4]

Children

Obed Wing had the following children, the first four with Florentine (Glidden) Wing and the last five with Asenath (Atkins) Wing. All are listed in the Wing genealogy^[1] and were probably born at Livermore, Maine (in Massachusetts until 1820). The last five are also listed in the Mason genealogy.^[4] Only the first two appear in the Livermore vital records,^[3] but there is a gap in those records for many families starting about 1812.

Military Service

Obed Wing served as a sergeant in the militia company of Livermore men commanded by Captain Wiliam Morrison during the War of 1812.^[5]

Death

Obed Wing died on 31 Jul 1862, and he is buried at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Livermore Falls, Maine.^[6]
