Metilda was born 5 May 1819 in Tennessee, possibly Giles County.
She is the daughter of Spencer Atkins and Milly Franks. I do not know if Metilda and Joel Atkins, were supposed to be twins or what. The birth dates are not correct on someone or perhaps both. Joel Atkins was born 5 June 1819 in Tennessee. Metilda married Jeptha Seay in about 1838, probably in Fayette County, Alabama. Metilda passed away 4 May 1891. She is buried at Ebenezer Methodist Church Cemetery, Fernbank, Lamar County, Alabama.
