In this census, Violet Askew is 45 years old and works on the farm with the assistance of her son Nelson Askew who is 17. Neither can read nor write. It is known Nelson will later take on the last name of Minus.
Violet’s remaining children in the home are Caroline Askew, 15, William Askew, 12 and Viola Askew, who is 10. All three children attend school while also working on the farm.
