Irene Andre was born on the 25th of March, 1905 in Pennsylvania, United States. Her parents were Louis Julian Andre and Julia Eugénie Thérèse Bary. They were both born in Jumet, Hainaut, Belgium and had immigrated to the USA either about 1889 or 1900.[1]
In the 1910 US Census Irene is listed as a six year old daughter living in Highland, Elk, Pennsylvania. By the 1920 US Census the family had moved to Portland, Oregon where Irene is listed as a 15 year old daughter.[2][3]
