Biography

Nancy Leonora Aldrich, daughter of Henry Aldrich and Nancy (Stanley) Aldrich, was born 1 Mar 1823; most likely in the vicinity of Livermore, Maine.[1][2]

Nancy married Charles Covert on 29 Oct 1840 in Newton, Queens, New York. Three children were born of this union:

  1. Underhill Covert (19 Nov 1841-12 Aug 1882)
  2. Henry Covert (29 Sep 1842-16 Nov 1898)
  3. Charles Johnson Covert (27 Mar 1845 - 1 Jun 1845)

Nancy passed away on 8 Apr 1845, shortly after the birth of her last child; most likely in Maspeth, Queens, New York, where she lived with her husband and children.[3] She was buried in nearby Green-Wood Cemetery in Brooklyn, Kings, New York.[1]

Nancy Leonora Aldrich, daughter of Henry Aldrich. Nancy died on 8 April 1845 aged only 22 years and a few days. [4]

Research Notes

Nancy's placement in this family, and as the wife of Charles Garrison Covert, can be substantiated through her father's probate records. When Henry Aldrich's will was proved on 12 Aug 1852, it was indicated that his deceased daughter, Nancy L. Covert, was survived by her husband, Charles Covert of Newtown, New York, and their two children, Underhill and Henry Covert.[2]

Though Israel Washburn claimed that Nancy was born in Livermore, Maine in 1819, her birth was not recorded in the town records; only the names of her 3 eldest siblings were recorded at Livermore.[5]

Aldrich-2780 and Aldrich-2374 appear to represent the same person because: Hi there, these two profiles are duplicates: their vital information is nearly identical and family composition is exactly the same. I've attached her father's probate record for verification.
