Mary (Aldis) Fisher immigrated to New England as a child during the Puritan Great Migration (1621-1640).
Marie Aldus, daughter of Nathan Aldus and Mary (___) was baptized on October 18, 1623 at Fressingfield, Suffolk, England. The family came to New England by 1639, settling at Dedham, Massachusetts. [1]
She married Joshua Fisher on March 15, 1643, at Dedham, Massachusetts Bay Colony.[1][2]

Is it possible that the Dedham VR has already corrected the year to new style dating? If the marriage occurred in March 1643/4, then it seems unlikely that the first daughter Mary was also born in that same month. Her profile indicates her birth was in Dedham on 23 March 1643/4 (source not clear, but appears also to be Dedham VR - I have not tracked down the children's baptismal records to confirm this.)
From my experience with Don Gleason Hills' transcriptions, he did them verbatim. The way that record reads (see the linked volume I added) their marriage most likely occurred in March of 1643, not 1644. The daughter Mary's birth is shown under 1644: https://archive.org/details/earlyrecordsded01masgoog/page/n14/mode/1up?q=164
You are amazing. It looks like the daughter Mary's birth date is actually 23 March 1644/5, agree? That bumps up tightly against the reported next child Joshua, but he died as an infant, so was possibly premature? Again, I am just trusting the profile and have not tried to find his baptismal or death record.
The way I read these is that she was born in the first month (March) of 1644. Not 1645. As an example, see the Dedham published VRs here. When you see '1644 look back to the prior entries, being "12th month" (or February of 1644).
Joshua was born 1645, 30th of the 8th month, or October 30 1645. Record is here. This was a fertile family.
Hanna was born 1646, 14th of the 12th mo. (14 Feb 1647) Her record is on the same page as Joshua's.
Yes, I do see that. What was confusing to me is that if it's correct that the marriage occurred on 15 Mar 1643/4, this means that the first child was born 8 days after they married. Which is, of course, possible.
No, Scott, I read their date of marriage as 15 March 1643. Original record is here. There's no 'double dating' in the records, and it reads as the 1st month of 1643, so March 1643.
So now that brings us full circle, doesn't it? The string began based on Steve Gilson's post below that the marriage record should be read as 15 Mar 1643/4, i.e., 1644 in new style dating. I may just be completely confused now, but are we saying that the marriage occurred in March 1643, and the first child was born in March 1644 (all new style)?
