Biography

Flora Alden was the daughter of Charles Alden and Susan (Peterson) Alden,^[1] probably born at either Canton or Livermore, Maine. She was living with her parents at Livermore in 1860 and 1870 at the ages of 3 and 13^[2][3] and at Canton in 1880 at the age of 22.^[4] A gravestone for a Florette Alden at the Alden Cemetery in Canton, Maine, says that she was a twin daughter of Charles and Susan E. Alden and had been born on 20 May 1857 and died on 28 Dec 1857.^[5]

Flora Alden never married. By 1910, she had moved to Salem, Massachusetts, where she was making a living as a dressmaker.^[6] In 1940, she was living at Beverly, Massachusetts, with her nephew Alden Morgan, at the age of 82,^[7] and that is the last record found of her.
