Biography

George was born in 1845 and was baptized on 27th May 1945 at Olveston, Gloucestershire.^[1] He was the son of James Addis and his wife Sarah.

The 1851 census lists George as 5 years old living with his parents James and Sarah in Olveston.^[2]

George’s mother Sarah has probably died between the 1851 and 1861 census as his father James is listed in the 1861 census as married to Harriet who is 21 years younger than him. George is 15 years old and his sister Rhoda is 10. His father James is a Parish Clerk and Stationer. ^[3] George is a mason. ^[4]

George Addis married Mary Jane Jenkins on April 17, 1875. George and Mary Jane had children.
