Biography

Hannah Green Adams was born on 4 Jan 1822, the daughter of Jephthah Hill Adams and Hannah Green.

She married Nathan Carver, the son of Nathan Carver (1775–1852) and Hannah Matthews (1732–1853). They were the parents of eight known children, all born at Livermore, Maine:

The 1860 US census for Livermore, Maine conducted 19 Jun 1860 lists residents Nathan Carver (48), a farmer, Hannah G (38), Eveline M (13), a student, Abby (11), Russell A (10), a student, Willie E (7), a student, Emma L (5), a student, Nathan E (3) and Ellen L (10 months). Abby is not a student, and a note is attached stating that she is insane caused by whooping cough. Nathan owns real estate valued at $1400 and has a personal estate valued at $450.

The 1870 US census for Dixfield, Maine, for the area serviced by the East Dixfield Post Office, lists residents Nathan Carver (58), a farmer, his wife Hannah (48), keeping house, son William (17), a farm laborer, Emma L (15), attending school, Ellen (10), attending school, Nathan E (13), at home, and Rosilla (9). All the children have attended school within the past year. Nathan owns real estate valued at $1200 and has a personal estate valued at $1000.

She passed away on 18 Mar 1878 in Dixfield, Maine and is buried at the East Dixfield Cemetery, Wilton, Maine. Burial: East Dixfield Cemetery, Franklin County, Maine, USA.^[1]
