Eleanor's maiden name is assumed Abernathy, based on marriage record.
Notice that husband has the same surname.
Birth estimated about 1809, based on the following:
1) born between 1801-1810, per census in 1830, age 20-29
2) born between 1801-1810, per census in 1840, age 30-39
3) born 1809 NC, per census in 1850, age 42
Place of Birth: assume Lincoln Co. NC, based on the following:
1) Eleanor's 1850 census says born NC
2) It appears all Abernathy families 1830-1840 Jefferson Co. AL, originated NC.
3) The majority of Abernathy families in 1800-1830 NC, are in Lincoln Co.
DEATH
Death: between 1850-1860 census (average = 1855)

Burial: Abernethy - Larkin Cemetery, Pontotoc County, Mississippi
Source: Cemeteries of Pontotoc County, Mississippi
Author: Peggy A. Young, Pontotoc County Historical Society (Miss.)
Publisher: Express Printing, 1999
Note: The name Eleanor Abernathy appears in this book as wife of Samuel, but there is no birth/death dates. It is unclear if there is an actual headstone in this cemetery.
PARENTAGE
Eleanor Abernathy, possible daughter of William Abernathy.
Evidence to determine Eleanor's father is somewhat vague.
1) In 1830, Eleanor and husband Samuel, were living between William Abernathy (assumed father of Eleanor), and David Abernathy (assumed father of Samuel).
2) Eleanor's move from Jackson Co. AL, to Pontotoc Co. MS is consistent with the family group of William Abernathy.
Eleanor and her husband moved during the same time period (1840-1850) as other Abernathy families. These "other" families appear to be Abernathy siblings (children of William Abernathy). The assumption of siblings is based on their extremely close proximity to each other on 1850 census. Even though Eleanor and husband were not close to the Abernathy siblings in 1850, their move to Pontotoc Co. MS is consistent with this family group.
3) William's 1810 census indicates a daughter of Eleanor's age.
Note: there are 3 different William Abernathy in 1810 Lincoln Co. NC.
It is not clear which one is the potential father of Eleanor, but all 3 Williams only have one daughter, which is the age of Eleanor.
