Here is an interesting instance of autosomal DNA triangulation that (I believe) could point me to a Jones ancestor of mine who is currently "just behind a brick wall". I have drawn up a "map" of a large triangulated segment on chromosome 2 that is shared among 4 descendants of A.B. Jones (1836-1902) and Mary Coates (1839-1893) and 4 descendants of Adam Shriver (1736-1815) and Christina Strosnider (1740-1803). 7 of these testers match one another on the same segment of chromosome 2 - between 22 cM-58.5 cM. One of the testers (Kathy - a descendant of Jacob Shriver) has not submitted to Gedmatch, but she matches all 7 of the other tests on Ancestry DNA.
