Question

Anyone else having problems with FamilySearch? I can no longer use the search box, because I keep getting a "long running script", but when I click to close the script, it just comes back up.   I even went to another computer and got the same thing.

I don't have an answer for you because I don't use the search box. Try using FamilySearch in a separate browser tab to see if the same things happen. You will have to fill in the search parameters though.

I cannot get the search to load any results (I only wanted some census details *sigh*).  All I get is an error message.  (I use opera, if that helps.)

Try using Chrome or FireFox. It's possible FS doesn't support Opera.

As I have been using opera exclusively since I sorted out the password is my last name issue that kept me locked out until earlier this year, and have only had a problem today — which is no longer occurring — I'd say the problem was with family search, not my browser.

Oh .. and as a matter of principle, I will not use chrome.

a "long running script" error may or may not be from that particular site. It could also be from other sites in other browser tab windows, or your browser is running low on resources/memory.

You might try clearing your cache and restarting your browser altogether. Perhaps even restarting your machine as well.

oh... I see that you already tried from another machine...

in that case, it probably is their site.

perhaps they've recently updated their code (with some bad code). I'm sure they'll get it fixed eventually.

I think FamilySearch fixed something because now it is working again.

High volume of traffic apparently. My screen started flashing, which was a little disconcerting.

Family Search has changed there search,it is hard too access,

I even have a hard time with it,but i eventually get access.
