Familysearch problems

Question

When I enter a name to search on familysearch, nothing shows up.  When I enter the same name at a different time I get matches for my search.  Is there any reason why familysearch might be blocking my search.  I don't add to my tree on familysearch.  I use Wikitree for that.  I would like to join a project but I have de-googled, so will not participate in communication.  Solutions?

There can be a browser issue, an internet connectivity issue, a site hiccup if the search is working at some times and not others.

Hi Gaye. For the second part of your question: some projects do have alternative options for communication in addition to Google groups. See the recent G2G thread Group Communication for Projects.

You can try and clear your cache and make sure you have enough memory to get a good result from your FS query. Sometimes, it's not you, it's the computer.

FamilySearch is an ongoing site, relying on volunteers just like WikiTree. So information gets uploaded as and when they get to it. Just be patient! :)
