I am looking to verify this information on the Port of Caraquet:
"The Vikings are said to have been the first Europeans to visit the region in the 11th century, but Basque, Breton, and Norman fishermen frequented the area from the 13th century."
This information is allegedly from
Robichaud, Donat (1976). Le Grand Shippagan (in French). pp. 33–37. The closest library that has it is 100 miles away from me, or I would go pull it!
