  • Added support for Name's gender returned in JSON format for use in the WBE. https://plus.wikitree.com/function/WTWebNameDistribution/Names.json?FirstName=Ale%C5%A1&format=json
  • While doing that Ian pointed out some problems and I changed the gender function to make it work better. The change was to ignore profiles without gender in the process. Back in 2016 I assumed that all profiles will get the gender eventually but that was not the case on the private profiles so Hellen was set as unisex which is not correct. As a result there will be big changes in gender 500-510 suggestions. 7000 new ones and 50000 changed the suggestion number.
  • Changed Great Britain to official location and added all recognition matches to UK regions.
  • I improved the succession reports. Now the profile's dates are checked against the function years. I also added reports for only partial and for complete new Succession templates. They are all collected here: https://www.softdata.si/wt/Cat/Succession/
  • There was a new session of Ask Aleš on Wednesday. You can watch it here: G2G
  • I improved the date parameter checking on Template: Hold Request. I added support for long month names and checking for the date being in the past or too far away in the future. Here you can see the a nice review of template use and dates that are not recognized (they are not Bold) https://www.softdata.si/wt/Templ_20240331/Template_Hold_Request.htm G2G: https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/1718382/error-897-unknown-date-in-hold-request-research-note-box
  • I improved the validation of 3xx HTTP errors. I added support to set cookies as requested. That resulted in 8000 less 966 suggestions. See G2G: https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/1722612/link-error-various-help-found-previously-moved-temporarily
  • Ian created a page, that converts country histograms to a table or exports it to excel. https://apps.wikitree.com/apps/beacall6/histograms_to_tables.php See G2G: https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/1719578/there-harvest-numbers-table-wikitree-location-histograms
  • I made minor changes in FindaGrave matching algorithm to prevent false connections. The change is noticed on cca 2000 profiles where a wrong memorial was selected.
  • Renamed index CreatedBy to Created. If you were using Createdby=Creator_Trtnik-2 in your searches you now have to use Created=Creator_Trtnik-2
  • Added creation year to the Created index. Created=Created_2024 Year is prepended with Created_
  • Template:Succession was added to the ConnectionFinder notables definition. That means that Notables CC7 will be calculated also for profiles having the Succession template. Deprecated templates Succession box and Succession box2 will not be added since they should be replaced with the new one.
  • I prepared the succession reports. They are all collected here: https://www.softdata.si/wt/Cat/Succession/ I think this will help unify the template usage on different profiles for the same position. It will also help with transition to the new template. There are 2 special reports. SuccessionReport_All.htm contains all data and is huge. SuccessionReport_Rest.htm contains the data not shown in any other report. All other reports contain the word in the report name SuccessionReportPope.htm in position or years field. Old templates had the position often listed in the years parameter. Reports are updated once a week as database dump is processed. In the reports each Position is shown in 2 tables. First one is named Online data and displays extracted data linked to the WT+ data. the 2nd table named Template parameters lists actual parameters used in templates.
  • Added WikiData ID to wikidata index. You can now search for wikidata=q23 to find profile(s) linked from that page.
  • Added a possibility to search for changed profiles by a user in last month. Index name is changesmonth and you use it like changesmonth=Trtnik-2 or changesmonth="WikiTree-11" https://plus.wikitree.com/default.htm?report=srch1&Query=changesmonth%3DWikiTree-11
  • Wrote some examples on how ti use the sql="..." conditions in search queries. See: Help:WikiTree Plus#SQL

It looks like you and Ian did a tremendous amount of work after the Thon. Thank you! Your efforts will not go unnoticed.

I'm happy to see the new category errors! However, for "Error 888: Category not found", all of the profiles with this error from the USBH project report are generating this error for cemetery categories that have been created in the last week or so. Is this expected behavior for this error? Can this error somehow be adjusted so it's not showing up for newly created categories? If not, I'm assuming we should just mark it false in these cases?

Those categories are all new and were created during the data export. I will check if I can automatically update the category list after the database dump is complete.

I also noticed that many suggestions are for renamed categories where EditBOT corrected the profile and deleted the category. That is a problem if the bot runs after the database export and before the suggestion calculations. I will try to resolve this.
I think I resolved the problem. We will see next week.
Sounds good! Thanks Aleš!
