Privacy issues

Hi all,

I have noticed a potential problem on some members' profile pages.  The system is set up so that DOB box for living people only shows the decade.  BUT!  On certain profiles I have seen for living members, mostly newer members, they entered their exact date of birth, parentage and location in their bio, which is clearly visible to anybody who goes on their profile.  Which leaves them open to identity theft.  Have messaged some of them on what to do to hide such data from public view, but I only see them when I go on their profiles, so no idea how widespread this is.

No idea how to solve this, whether greeters could handle this when they welcome new members, or what.  Certainly needs some solution.

I also get horrified at how people, are not a careful as they can be.

Me I have obscured as much as I can.

So hard to juggle wanting to share for genealogy and wanting privacy for scammers, and a previous scary mentally disturbed stalker and another family member who is sometimes nice and sometimes rather nasty.
