Family Search Problem

Question

For several days I need to log in to FamilySearch every time I use it. Randomly I am kicked back to the sign-in page while in the middle of a search. If I go back and forth to a profile I am frequently sent back to log in again.

I was reading a source that I wanted to cite just now and I was kicked back to log in. After the log in I am sent to a page two ʻclicksʻ before the one I was on.

My hands are not near the keyboard or touch pad!

Using Safari on iMac.  No problem with any other sites.

Kristina,  

Family Search has not been giving me any problems during the Connect-a-thon.  They say they support the current and the last versions of Safari only.  So make sure you are using one of those.  

Another suggestion which may or may not help but it is worth a try (if you have not attempted it yet).  In your browser settings, try clearing your browser history of everything.  

WARNING - If you clear everything in your history, you will need to re-enter any saved passwords and signin information saved.  You can choose not to clear everything and select the categories you want cleared.  However, one of those items saved might be causing this issue.

Shut down your browser completely.  Reopen and try accessing Family Search.  

If you are using a Pop-Up Blocker, this can interfere with the functionality of Family Search as well.  You would need to allow pop-ups from Family Search.   

If this does not work, I hope that someone with Safari on iMac will help you soon!

I will try clearing the browser history, I do that every couple of months but havenʻt for a while.

Shutting down the browser doesnʻt fix it - I do that every night. No pop-up blocker.

Excellent suggestions. I actually think it might be ghosts of all the people whose information I am searching for , telling me to MYOB!.

FamilySearch used to have a feature you could tick saying 'keep me signed in for two weeks'.  They have done away with this now (boo! hiss!) so you have to sign in every time.

Yep, I remember those good old days. I donʻt mind signing in every time I want to use it, but I am getting kicked out of a search before I can read it all or try to get a citation!

Yes, the "you need to login" page does pop up for me. You just have to click on the X to close the popup window and you can continue working. I agree it is annoying but easy to clear.
