New member introducing myself

Hello

I wanna say my mom was adopted, but that's not 100% accurate. She grew up being told she had to pay her debts from the people who raised her in Illinois. We've discovered from DNA that her paternal is from Fogarty/Huges line. Her maternal is from the Bakeman/Jackson line. The maternal part is what's giving us the hardest. However, I have found some DNA connections to people here on this site. I just don't know how to actually connect to people or show that we have DNA connections. I'm currently researching Lydia Hendrickson aka Case (1763-1821).  Any navigational advice would be greatly appreciated.

That being said, some pretty neat things will happen as you enter your pedigree into the system. You may find that some your family has already been profiled here by cousins you never knew you had!

Right now, your family is not connected to the Single Worldwide WikiTree  Once your pedigree hooks into the big Tree, you will find you are related to many famous people and probably half of the members on this site.

So please keep working on adding your pedigree. Sooner or later your family will connect to the big tree and then you will see wonderful things happen!

Hi Christine, welcome! Your DNA connections will fill out automatically as you connect more people to your and your ancestors' profiles. (Since I see you have already entered your DNA test info.)

If you are worried about your mother's connections since she was adopted (of sorts) you connect her to her blood relations and use this template in the biography section of her profile for her adopted family:

We currently can't see who she is connected to because her profile is private. (You don't have to make it public to see your own connections. Just that if you have already connected her to her blood relations, we can't see that you have.) Also, don't feel pressured to make anything public you don't want to, I am just stating how Wikitree works.
