New member introducing myself

Hi, fellow Genealogists on WikiTree!

I'm delighted to have come across this community. Just a Guest Member for the moment although I sense it won't be long before I upgrade!

I have around 14-15 years' experience developing my family tree - principally online - and not necessarily active for the whole time!

I have invested most of my energy (and a modest amount of cash) into identifying, and describing where possible, my own ancestors as well as those of my late wife. Whilst my own lines have been British-based, my late wife's ancestry had rather more variety to it, partly resulting from her mother being Swiss-born and bred and also, within her father's maternal line, a thread that goes into Canada and includes a native Canadian aspect! Later on, that same family thread includes some notable characters within the non-conformist Christian movement of the 18th-19th centuries in England.

I have remarried in the past year and have taken on the challenge of reorganising my new wife's family tree. That is also exciting, with her having been born in Nairobi, Kenya and her father having emigrated there from his native Australia. Even more intriguing, is the likelihood that her father's family line stems from England and possibly extends back to the Norse (Viking) invasions of Nothern England from around the 8th or 9th century!

I have, of course, a number of brick walls to try and solve. I shall endeavour to do this as a full Family member.

I look forward to a fruitful collaboration.

Kind regards,

Andrew D Mills (b.1948)

Andrew, thank you for introducing yourself in our g2g forum. I would like to welcome you to WIkiTree.  Your next step should be to upgrade to a family membership. After you upgrade you will be able to add tags. Tags could be names or locations of your ancestors. These tags will connect you to other members of WikiTree that are researching the same names and locations that you are. You can then collaborate with these members and possible break one of your brick walls.

Thank you again, for introducing youself, and I hope you learn to love WikiTree as much as I do.
