How do I find connected profiles without parents? (Project Quebecois)

Question

Hello - looking for guidance on which tool to utilize ( if one exists) to find profile for those born in Quebec, connected to the larger tree, but without parents.  Ideas? I've been working on connecting, and consolidating when I come across duplicates.

There just MUST be a better way than going through various last names. Thank you!

Have you ever used WikiTree+? That would be the best way.

You might want to have some additional criteria to narrow it down.  Or I could pull a list and do some sorting or narrowing, working with you.

Here are a couple ideas about how you could filter the results in WikiTree+:

• Filter by specific birth location:
  • noparents BirthLocation=Kamouraska (587 profiles)
• Filter by birth year. Such as:
  • Quebec noparents B1810 (born in year 1810 = 482 profiles)
• Filter by last name at birth. Such as:
  • Country=Canada noparents LastNameatBirth=Lévesque (210 profiles)

Thank you Valerie, for showing me you can link more than two keywords together in WikiTree Plus.  I do like an excel extract for sorting because it's easier to keep track of what's been done.

Another option is to use is a fan chart for an individual.  You can see where parents are blank for their whole family history.  I guess it depends on how wide a net you want to cast and where you want to start.  Per my findings above, if you need some help with the broad net, I'd be glad to make you an excel file to work from.

Rereading your request about the Quebec Project, when I use Category: Quebec there are 125 profiles

125 profiles for Category: Québec noparents

I just connected one of them, had his marriage record in front of me which named his parents.  So I did a search for them, found them and connected him.  That is the simplest way to do it.

He is a descendant of a connected Lalonde line.
