We're currently in Hispanic Heritage month in the US, so we're celebrating our Hispanic Heroes in the Connection Finder this week starting with Simón Bolívar, liberator of of the present-day nations of Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru, and Bolivia.

I am 9 degrees from Jose Maria Redondo, but that's because he is related to my Uncle George Proctor. Uncle George and Linda Ronstadt are 4th cousins through the Redondo line.

Only 15 degrees to Pío de Jesus Pico, through his cousin's husband Henry Fitch.

There's a cousin as well, possibly the most distant I have seen yet, Lola Rodríguez at 20th cousin 3x removed.

I had an "uncle" who was involved in labor negotiations with Cesar Chavez.  As far as I know he was some sort of academic consultant in the process.  I really should have asked more questions.
