Duplicated Cemetery

Question

Catagory for Elmwood Cemetery is duplicated. Can it be merged. ID 64434. Correct address is Glenmont, New York.

Why is Glenmont the correct location? Map looks like the cemetery is not actually in Glenmont. Glenmont is a hamlet in the town of Bethlehem, New York. I would use Bethlehem as location.

I have ancestors and relatives in this cemetery.  I've never visited the cemetery, but I've puzzled over information about it, and I agree with Natalie.

Glenmont is one of several hamlets in the town of Bethlehem. Glenmont might be the postal address of the cemetery office, but it is not the physical location of the cemetery.  Findagrave gives the cemetery address as 922 Rte 9W in Glenmont, but the cemetery's website gives the address as 922 Rte 9W, Selkirk , N.Y. Selkirk is another hamlet in Bethlehem. The cemetery appears to be closer to Selkirk than it is to Glenmont, but I don't think it's in either hamlet.

I think Bethlehem is the best place name to associate with the cemetery.

http://www.interment.net/data/us/ny/albany/elmwood/index.htm gives the address as 922 Rte 9W, Selkirk, and states that it is "located in the Town of Bethlehem, just south of Glenmont."

ADDED: That "just south of Glenmont" wording may be intended as part of the driving directions from Albany.
