Anyone know a marine named David Floyd, stationed in Maine around 1975?

My mother never knew her birth father, as he left when my grandmother told him she was pregnant. All I know is his name is David Floyd, he was a marine, and he was stationed in Brunswick, Maine, USA sometime in or around 1975. All of my personal researching has turned up nothing, and my grandmother doesn't know anything more than that. Any help is much appreciated!

As Gaile has noted, for privacy reasons, we cannot discuss living people in this forum -- and chances are good that this grandfather is still living.

I think there is an excellent chance that autosomal DNA testing will help you find this man's family.  See Adoption_Angels:_Resources_for_Adoptees and Adoption_Angels:_Searching_For_Unknown_Parents for some advice that WikiTreers have assembled for people conducting searches like yours.

I'll definitely check these out, thank you

Eyvor, David Floyd is a very common name.  It would help if you could provide any more information, such as when and where your mother was born.  I tried to see if I could find a David Floyd at Find a Grave who was born between 1940 and 1955 and was or might have been a Marine.  The best I could do is this one, this one, and this one.  If he turns out to still be living then we could not help at all because we are not even permitted to mention his name here because of privacy rules.

Unfortunately I have no other information on him specifically that I can give, except I know he was white (I've seen like photo of him, which I unfortunately do not have). I'm not even sure if he is still alive honestly. My mother was born in 1975 in Maine, but I'm unsure what specific town. These are already great leads, and I thank you greatly for taking the time to look for me
