Feel free to put your details in Wikitree. It is a great location for building your tree, and discovering DNA links. Hopefully you will connect in with cousins quickly. I have personally found that I have been contacted by more cousins on Wikitree, than any other family tree site. It has been very rewarding.

It looks like you have done a lot of work elsewhere already. If you need help finding sources in Australia, let us know who you are trying to find. If you haven't looked before, trying finding your ancestors on Trove.nla.gov.au. It is a wealth of sources.
Hi there. I have a Thomas Edward Howe (Howe 5892) in my lineage. He was my Mother’s grandfather. He came from Bendigo. His family moved out to Australia for the Gold ☺️
Hello.

Please  view my Howe lineage at https://www.wikitree.com/genealogy/Busby-Family-Tree-2029

Do you know where your Howe lineage migrated from; the origin of your James Howe?

With the absence of such an indication, you have not by any chance, undergone an FTDNA Family Finder Test (https://www.familytreedna.com/products/family-finder), have you?

I have a response to my post above, but I can not find how to respond to the response to my post, and I can not find how to find one the web site, the response to my post, as the response is not displayed on the web page upon which, my original post is displayed.

The response asks

"

Do you know birth year for Thomas Howe and the two Robert Howe's? Can you say whether each one was born in Australia or New Zealand? Can the region, county and city be stated?

"

In the web page, to which I provided the link, above, are

"
1. Thomas Stanley Howe was born in the year
1892 in Eaglehawk, Australia. He died on 11 FEB 1952 in Auckland, New
Zealand at the age of 59 years. He was the son of Robert George Howe
and Helen Harriet Ebbott.
...

2. Robert George Howe was born on 5 OCT 1864 in Eaglehawk, Australia. He died on 15 OCT 1919 in Parnell, Auckland, New Zealand at the age of 55 years. He was the son of Robert Howe and Jane Gibson. He married Helen Harriet Ebbott.

...

4. Robert Howe in About 1820 in Buckworth, England. He married Jane Gibson.

"

which is the information that I have.

Not your fault. I see that the first comment has been removed by the person commenting. I removed my comment for a moment too, when I saw how much detail you already have in your question. The other commentor was from Canada, so probably is less familiar with Australian sources. I am from Victoria, and uses Australian sources every day.
Thank you for your clarification.

Interestingly, I have Howe and Ebbott lineages in Victoria, and, part of my Busby lineage in Victoria, in Busby and Womersley families, and, someone who has posted Busby genealogy relating to my line, in another medium, under the name Maggie Busby, who I have been unable to contact, so far.

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Howe-7896 The profile manager Kaye, has done such a wonderful job entering many profiles in, across the country, so may struggle to get to you if you try and connect with her. Kaye is unlikely to be related to you. Just likes to get as many profiles as possible entered. I would suggest reguesting to join the Trusted List, under the Privacy tab. Then post another question, Looking for Robert Howe's family in Buckworth, England. Put the link to Howe-7896 in the appropriate box, and in the Tag box, put Howe, England. Let me find the death record for you a moment.

Death, Victoria, HOWE Robert. 8057/1898 No details on parents or birth unfortunately. Death at Iwood Hos. Would have to look up what the abbreviation stands for. Quick google search for Victoria BDM abbreviations will give you a page of them.

Married County Durham, England around March 1840.

Died Wednesday 22nd Jun 1898. Inglewood Hospital, reported on 23 Jun 1898 in the Bendigo Advertiser. https://Trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/89501894

Iwood Hos is Inglewood Hospital. The key page for place-name abbreviations used on the Victorian BDM site is

https://bdmabbreviations.steveparker.id.au/

It should be possible to find a passenger list for them too. at PROV.vic.gov.au .

Thank you Jim. Very useful site when trying to work in Victoria.
Incidently, I'm not sure if that is the correct death details or not. Those death details are based on the estimated birth that you gave. I personally wouldn't be prepared to accept that that marriage and death go together, without see some other sources elsewhere. It is a shame that the Trove article doesn't include his wifes name. A cemetery, or her death in the same area, would help to confirm that this is the correct Robert Howe.

Following siblings of Robert George found on VIC BDM, if that helps.

Hi, I recognised the surname and found a Howe of that region in my tree married to my 3rd cousin. He is still living, so I have added his ancestors back to arrival in New Zealand. If you look at this profile - Howe-11904 (Ronald Wellington Howe) - you can go up a few generations and maybe find a link to the Howes you are interested in? Hope this helps. Kathy

Hello, Kathy.

This involves a number of interesting aspects.

The first, is in the Biography for Ronald Wellington Howe, is

"

Ronald died in March 1980 and was buried at Wairoa, Hawke's Bay. His gravestone reads: "In Memory of RONALD W. HOWE father of Blair, Johnathan, Gerald, Roderick, Jane and Sally. JEAN B. HOWE loved mother. Died 9th November 1995 aged 79 years."

"

and, some years ago (I do not remember how many years go), I was contacted by a man named Blair Howe, who thought we might be related. I drove down to his place, which is a hundred or so kilometres south of here, and discussed this and his origins.

Whilst it appeared to me then, that we were not related, I believe, from memory, he knew the family of my eldest brother's wife, or knew of them, in Wairoawhere Blair Howe was from, and, where I have been, only once, probably somewhere around 50 years ago, when my eldest brother got married in Wairoa.

The man named Blair Howe, that I met, was, I believe, a nice and generous man, and, he appears to be the Blair, who is the son of this Ronald Wellington Howe.

And, with Wellington, New Zealand, being where Ronald Wellington Howe was born, Wellington is where my second eldest brother, and, his wife an his wife's family, have lived for most or all of the last forty years or so.

So, I think I need to, now, contact the Blair Howe that I met, and, refer him to your profile for Ronald Wellington Howe, as I believe that the Blair Howe that I met, is the Blair, of whom Ronald Wellington Howe is the father, and, I assume that the Blair Howe that I met, is still, as he was then, interested in genealogy and finding new relatives.

I am not aware of any evidence of a relationship between that Howe line, and mine, but, one thing that would be good, especially if you could convince the Howe who is married to your third cousin to do it, would be to get a Howe from that Howe line, to undergo the FTDNA Family Finder Test  (https://www.familytreedna.com/products/family-finder) - 59USD until the end of tomorrow, 09 May, which I have undergone, and, it could be useful, for finding possible a relationship between the two Howe lines, if a relationship exists.
I have found the person and sent them a message this evening. They may not be interested of course, but it's worth a try.

If you look at the Find-a-Grave page for Ronald Wellington Howe, you'll see the names of his children listed. It includes Blair and the person I have in my tree. So if my guy doesn't come through, Blair will definitely be the one to contact.

Hope you get somewhere!

I have Howes in my online family tree. Charles Howe (1824 in Brigstock, Northampton, England) married my 2nd cousin 3x removed Frances Whelch (1825 in Dover, Kent, England). They emigrated to New Zealand as did their Welch cousins (both spellings used) from whom I am descended. Their children were born in New Zealand; ten of them.

The family is on WikiTree. Here is the profile for Charles
