I have information to contribute to the profile of Joseph Palmer. This is what I can add:

These are the sources I am using:

Should I contact one of the pre-1700 projects or know about any style guidelines before proceeding? Thank you!

No, you don't, that's why it says IF in that banner. Although when you do go to edit, it pulls up "Connecticut Colony" in the place field instead of only Connecticut, so that does fall under the style guidelines.

The 'Colony of Connecticut' is the proper name for that time period. Location names should be named by what they were in their time, not ours. Connecticut did not become a state until January 9, 1788.

You do not have to contact a project unless a project manages a profile. Instead of the link to the sources help page, it will help others help if you add the actual sources that you plan to use. Good job collaborating by asking. :-)
