Hi Wikitreers,
In my antique collection I have a Vintage 1940 post card of Lake Pocotopaug in East Hampton Connecticut that is in my antique collection. It appears his wife or someone with the name Katherine DeGraff sent this post card to a Miss Jean Palmer in Fairfax, Virginia. No street address on card?
There are two Katherine DeGraff’s buried in St. Mary’s cemetery I believe it belonged to one of the two. There is also no Wikitree category for St Mary Cemetery where they rest
(#1). https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/67994103/katherine-degraff
(#2). https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/86924280/katherine-f-degraff
We need collaboration in determining who this post card originated and translation of the note written. Needs connecting…wife’s maiden name who married Charles?
“Dear Jean, I will send you some cards when I get some more. I ran out of them. It’s very hard to get colored cards here but I’ll do my best to get some. Katherine DeGraff”
Thank you
Note: the postage was paid with a 1 cent John James Audubon vintage stamp
