Biography

Thomas White was born in Kent, England.

Thomas Henry White, the third son of John Arthur White and Elizabeth née Brown, was born in 1862 in Maidstone, Kent, England. ^[1]

Thomas was baptised on 4 June 1865 at Holy Trinity Church, Maidstone. ^[2]

The 1871 census shows Thomas living with his family at 35 Wharf Lane. ^[3]

In 1881 he was living at 14 Hope Street, Maidstone with his father and siblings. ^[4]

Thomas married Elizabeth Ann Ames on 26 April 1886 at St Paul's Church, Maidstone. He was described as a wheelwright and a bachelor. Elizabeth was a spinster aged 21, the daughter of a bricklayer. The marriage was witnessed by Luke White and Emily Jane Bird. ^[5][6]

In 1891Thomas and Elizabeth were living in Dover Street, Sittingbourne, Kent with their son William, aged 3. Henry was working as a wheelwright. ^[7]

By 1901 the couple had moved back to Maidstone, where they were living at 280 Upper Fant Road with their 8 year old son, Charles. Henry was described as a carpenter. ^[8]

Henry died on 4 August 1910 in Maidstone. ^[9]
