Biography

Ralph was born on 9 July 1891 in Kentish Town, London, England. Date from 1939 register.^[1]

Ralph was baptised on 28 March 1901 in Kentish Town St John the Baptist, England. The baptism record gives his date of birth as 18 July 1891.^[2]

In the 1901 census Ralph was living in St Pancras, London, England. Relation to Head: Son.^[3]

On 2 April 1911 Ralph was living in Islington, London, England. Marital Status: Single. Relation to Head of House: Son.^[4][5]

Ralph was a crew member on the ship Lake Erie in 1911.^[6]

Ralph departed Newcastle and arrived in Sydney, New South Wales on 1 April 1913. He was a crew member on the ship Themistocles.^[7]

Ralph served in the military in 1914.^[8][9][10]

Ralph married Clara Ethel Risley on 15 February 1914 in Holy Trinity, Lambeth, England. The couple had 5 children: Ralph Allan Pavey, Jack Vernon Pavey, Darel Pavey, Peter Pavey and Derek Pavey.^{[11] [12]}

In 1924 according to an electoral register Ralph was living in Finchley, England.^[13]

Ralph married Elsie Sarah Chambers in September 1944 in Hendon, Middlesex. The couple adopted one child: Heather Carol Pavey.^[15]

Ralph had a glass eye due to an injury while making shoes in his shed. It is not known when the injury occurred. He had brown-green eyes (hazel). From his daughter: "He used to make beautiful leather shoes ..such an art".

Ralph died on 8 September 1958 in Marylebone, London, England at the age of 67.^{[16] [17]} According to his youngest daughter he went into hospital with an infection of the liver which they had cleared up nicely (he didn't drink, only one at Christmas, never went to the pub) they then had to do a hernia operation and that operation after the other treatment was too much for him and he passed away in hospital about 1 week later.
