Biography

Amaziah was a Friend (Quaker)

Amaziah was born in 1760. He was the son of Ebenezer Allen and Susannah Goddard. He passed away in 1843.

He was received on certificate at the East Hoosack monthly meeting from the Sandwich monthly meeting on 14d 10m 1784 [14 Oct 1784].^[1] He married Judith Killey the next month.^[2]

On 14d 4m 1796 [14 Apr 1796], he was granted a certificate to the Saratoga monthly meeting.^[3] He was accompanied by Judith and and their children Eleanor, Susanna, Ruth and Judith.^[3]

He was later received on certificate at the Scipio monthly meeting, from the Galway monthly meeting on 21d 3m 1811 [21 Mar 1811].^[4] He was joined by his wife and children Judith, Stephen, and Charlotte.^[4]

Amaziah and Judith were granted a certificate to the Farmington monthly meeting on 16d 12m 1829 [16 Dec 1829].^[5]

He died 5d 12m 1843, age 83y 5m 14d, in Galen, New York.^[6]
