Biography

Charles Guy Talbott was born in Benson, West Virginia on March 20, 1888 to Newton and Clemenza Coffindaffer Talbott. He was the second of seven children born to the couple.

Charles was raised on a farm in the Union District of Harrison County, West Virginia. When he was old enough, he helped work the farm alongside his father and brothers. In July 1906, the family moved to a farm located in the Leland Precinct in Nez Perce County, Idaho. By 1916, Charles had moved to Juliaetta, Idaho.

On November 2, 1916, Charles married Bessie Cannon Buchanan in Moscow, Idaho. The couple and Bessie's daughter from a previous marriage settled in Juliaetta, Idaho where Charles worked for the Juliaetta Milling and Light Company, first as an assistant and later as the postmaster. Charles and Bessie had two children of their own, both sons.

By 1930, the family had relocated to Potlatch, Idaho. Charles worked as a lumber grader and planer in a lumber mill, a role he would hold for the rest of his working life.

Charles died in Potlatch, Idaho on September 23, 1970. He was 82 years old. He is buried alongside his wife in Normal Hill Cemetery in Lewiston, Idaho.
