Biography

Richard D. Talbott was born in Potlatch, Idaho on September 20, 1922 to Charles Talbott and Bessie Cannon. He was the youngest of two sons born to the couple.

Richard was raised in Potlatch, Idaho. After he graduated from high school, Richard joined the United States Navy. He served during WWII and earned the rank of Gunner's Mate 2.

On January 17, 1945 Richard married Barbara Mendenhall in Long Beach, California. She was in the Waves (the Women's Naval Reserves. After their service, the couple first lived in Washington state, where their son was born in July 1949. But by 1950, the family had returned to his hometown in Potlatch, Idaho. They had one known child. Richard worked as a setter in the local lumber mill.

By 1954, Richard and Barbara had divorced. He married Dorothy Swenson in 1954. She died in 1958.

In 1959, Richard was living in Orofino, Idaho. On October 21, 1959, Richard married Maxine Sodamann in Superior, Montana.

Richard died on March 1, 1978 in Clearwater, Idaho. He was 55 years old. He is buried under a military headstone in Weseman Cemetery in Orofino, Idaho.
